Rara National Park is the smallest national park located in Nepal. It is the most attractive park in Nepal. Kathmandu is at a distance of 371 kms from this park. Jumla is at a distance of 32kms from Rara National Park. This park has the biggest lake of the country in it. It is located at a height of 2990 metres. The beautiful lake is oval shaped. It is 5 kms long and 3 kms wide. The depth is 167 meters. The main motive to establish this park in 1967 was to protect the special and attractive collection of flora and fauna of this region. It was also for conserving the rare beauty of Lake Rara. A part of this park is a suitable habitat for musk deer.
