The Phoksundo Lake is an awesome lake in Nepal. It is said to be the deepest lake of the country. Dopla local people consider this lake sacred. That is because of its color which is aquamarine greenish blue. It is also known as the jewel of Dopla region. A refreshing feeling is experienced as one sees it. There are tall snow mountains around the lake. The surroundings really mesmerize the visitors. Tourists can enjoy the scenic waterfalls, ancient monasteries and mind-blowing landscapes. Located in the lower region of Dopla this lake is 4.8 kms long and 650 meters deep. The lake is holy and roaring too. Since this lake is holding religious importance amongst Buddhists, swimming and bathing are not allowed here.
