The Phewa Lake is magnificent and majestic. It is the second largest in Nepal. The main attraction of the lake is the temple which is in the form of a pagoda. It has the idol of the Water Goddess or Barahi. This water lake in Pokhara is popular because it provides the reflection of Mt. Machhapuchhre and Annapurna in its clear water. The southern part of this lake offers best views. The Phewa Lake is around 1.5 kms long. It is around 4 km wide. The surroundings of this lake comprise of high white peaks and forests filled with monkeys. The early morning reflections are awesome. Tourists can engage themselves in fishing and boating. This lake has a variety of fishes.
