Langtang National Park is based in the Central Himalayas. It is said to be nearest park from Kathmandu. This park was declared as the first Himalayan National Park in the year 1970-1971. The main motive of this park is to preserve its natural surroundings and also to protect the traditional methods used for conservation. The catchments of the two main rivers - Trisuli and Sun Koshi are the main part of Langtang National Park. The subtropical forest here is filled with oak, blue pine, hemlock, spruce, maple and variety of rhododendron trees. This forest is home for animals like ghoral, muntjac, red panda, serow and rhesus monkey. The rivers provide an amazing place for migratory birds during spring and autumn season. Villages around the park, glaciers, and snow capped mountains can be explored here.
