Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PSTU) or simply Telugu University, is one of the few language universities in India
.It was established as "Telugu University" on 2 December 1985 through an Act of Legislation (Act No. 27 of 1985) with head quarters at Hyderabad and campuses at Sri Sailam and Rajahmundry
. Dr. N. T. Rama Rao was the founder and first Chancellor of this esteemed university. Later in the year 1989 the Siddhendra Kalakshetram at Kuchipudi merged with the University.
Telugu University Library is established in the year 1985 in Osmania University
campus. It has three Campus libraries at Srisailam
, Rajahmundry and Warangal
. Library contains various titles on the subjects like Telugu language, literature, Linguistics, Fine arts, Astrology, Journalism, Culture, Folk Arts.
Telugu University Museum has three galleries. The History gallery has 52 oil paintings. The Contemporary Art gallery has 124 canvas paintings by eminent artists. The Portrait gallery displays 220 portraits of Telugu luminaries in various fields and 211 Nataratnas, distinguished stage artists acquired from Dr. Mikkilineni Radhakrishna Murthi.
