Mancherial (Telugu: ,Urdu: Hindi: ) is a town and a major municipality in Adilabad district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located 253 kilometres (157 mi) north east of state capital, [[Hyderabad, India].
There has been a demand to make Mancherial as a separate district from the political leaders as Mancherial had all the features that a district might have.t is part of a tri towns comprising Mancherial,Naspur and Srirampur. It has a population of nearly 2.8 lakhs including Naspur and Srirampur (2011) As of 2011[update] India census, Mancherial had a population of 2,80,000(including srirampur and naspur). Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Mancherial has an average literacy rate of 72.6%, higher than the national average : male literacy is 81, and female literacy is 65%. In Mancherial, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.
