The airport is spread over an area of 310.22 acres whereas an additional 350 acres land is in the process of being alloted to Airport Authority of India for the airport expansion project. The project includes various civil works such as extending the runway to 9,000 feet and the construction of new terminal building and parking apron.
Air India, Kingfisher Airlines, Spicejet and Ventura Airconnect Limited have been operating scheduled flight services to and fro from Jabalpur.Pre-paid metro taxi services are available to and from airport along with pre-paid auto rickshaws. Coach services to various key locations in Jabalpur and private car rental services are also available.
The Airport Authority of India announced that the Airport required 500 hectares of land, and the madhy pradesh government has allocated such land for the development. Planned improvements at the airport include a capacity to handle up to 7 jets at a time, extending the runway to 3500 meters and a second runway.
