The sleepy little village of Deobalod with its narrow village alleys houses a red sandstone structure which is, in all probability, the oldest Shiva temple in Chhattisgarh. The shikhara of the temple had been destroyed over time. But the garhhagriha, which is sunken below the ground level, still houses the ancient linga. The mandapa is supported by two rows of five pillars, each of which is beautifully sculpted. Right next to the temple is a square kund (tank) which is over 13 m deep. All sides of the tank have steps leading to its base.
