Referred as the ‘Badrinath of the South’, Anantagiri is located at the highest altitude point found within the state of Andhra Pradesh. Located along the way to Araku Valley, the entire village is surrounded by coffee plantations, giving visitors a pleasant feel of nature’s bounty. At some places the foliage is so thick that it shields the entire area completely from the sun. Several waterfalls, of which Tadimata Waterfalls is the most famous, adorn the hillocks around this tourist village. This place is also locally considered as a health resort. Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department has developed a beautiful wayside restaurant to cater to the needs of the tourists passing through Anantagiri towards the Araku Valley.
