Departure time from Bambú: 9:00 a.m.

Day 1:
9:00 a.m. Our local guide will wait for you at Bambú, by the mini supermarket “Maruja” Before starting the boat ride we will indicate the security measures you have to take into account during the tour. After you have correctly put on your life vest, we will start this adventure on Yorkín River. During the boat ride, the guide will tell you about the Yorkín River and the surrounding nature. This river is especially important, because not only it is the natural border between Costa Rica and Panama, but it also is crucial for the transportation of persons, merchandise and food. During the dry season, some of you will have to get out of the boat and help to push it, so do not be scared if that happens, it’s all part of the adventure!

10:30 a.m. Arrival at the community of Yorkín followed by a 15-minute hike accompanied by your guide, passing through the community, to reach the Lodge.

11:00 a.m. Arrival at our paradise, Aventuras Naturales Yorkín. You will be received with a refreshing tropical juice and delicious snack.
Free time for you to get comfortable in the room we prepared for you.

12:30 p.m. Enjoy an indigenous lunch.

2:00 p.m. Walk through the community, the suspension bridge, the School, the high School, the church and the soccer field. You might be invited to play a game of soccer at sunset. A moment to make friends!

4:00 p.m. Back to the Lodge and presentation on the process of making chocolate out of cacao; our traditional beverage used by our ancestors at ceremonies, births and healings.

5:00 p.m. Handicraft class: we teach you how to make a beautiful handicraft, which could be a dried pumpkin carved with symbolic designs and that you can use later as a drinking bottle, or a little basket or jewelry box made of “senco”, a natural fiber not very well known, but very manageable and used for weaving to create utensils.

7:00 p.m. Dinner
8:00 p.m. Singing in Brìbri and Bribri legends.

Lodging at Aventuras Naturales Yorkín.

Day 2:
7:00 a.m. Breakfast
8:00 a.m. Walk on the trails, explaining about medicinal plants and fruit trees.

9:00 a.m. Archery; presentation and afterwards you will have the opportunity to try it yourself. It’s not as easy as it seems!

10:30 a.m. We cross the Yorkín River to reach Panama and we walk to a small waterfall where you can refresh yourself and swim in a natural pool.

11:45 a.m. Delicious goodbye lunch. Time to pick up your personal belongings from the room.

1:00 p.m. Departure by boat accompanied by your guide, heading for Bambú
2:30 p.m. Arrival to Bambú and goodbye.
Indigenous style Ranch of 4 floors: The first floor has three rooms, each equipped with 1 double bed, a spacious private shower, sink and toilet. This first floor also has a shared bathroom (shower, sink and toilet) in the hallway. The upper floors (with wooden floors) are set up for tents. We have 13 double tents and 10 individual tents, which we set up with mats and bed linen.

What to take with you? Comfortable walking shoes, sandals, bathing suit and towel, extra clothing if you wish, sunblock, cap or hat, drinking bottle, insect repellent, raincoat, camera, binoculars and a plastic bag to protect your personal belongings from getting wet during the boat ride.
