Day 1 - Arrival - Negombo or Straight to Anuradhapura
Negombo is a traditional fishing town of Sri Lanka, located on the west coast of the island. Just 8 kilometers from the Airport and it is no wonder Negombo is a gourmet’s delight with seafood available in plenty.

Attractions in the city are the old Dutch fort gate built in 1672 now a part of the prison, the Dutch Canal which was then a supply route to the Dutch administration, old churches and fishing villagers.

Anuradhapura was the greatest Monastic city of the ancient world and the heart of Sri Lankan civilization for over a millennium. It was the Royal capital of 113 successive kings and four Queens. The sheer scale of its surviving ruins and Stupas is breathtaking. The three main Dagobas are against the biggest architectural creations ever attempted in the ancient world, surpassed in size only by the pyramids at Giza.

* Over night stay at a star class hotel.

Day 2 - Sigiriya/Polonnaruwa Sightseeing
Sigiriya (Lion's rock) is an ancient rock fortress and castle/palace ruin situated in the central Matale District of Sri Lanka, surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and other structures. It is a popular tourist destination, also known for its ancient paintings (frescos), very similar to those in the Ajanta Caves of India. The Sigiraya was built during the reign of King Kassapa I (AD 477 – 495), and it is one of the seven World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka.

Polonnaruwa The second most ancient of Sri Lanka's kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first declared the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who defeated the Chola invaders in 1070 CE to reunite the country once more under a local leader.

As we approach these impressively partially ruined buildings there are monkeys all around – on the ground and on the walls. There are also several families of local cats and they all seem to own the place. We are then reminded forcibly of the scene in The Monkey Kingdom with the king of the monkeys making his home in the ruins in the jungle. This is a particularly potent view down by the ancient Royal Baths known as Kumara Pokuna (which is technically outside the main Quadrangle in the Royal Palace section). The monkeys are lazing around the pool and you can almost imagine the young monkeys are actually down by the pool are paddling.

It’s the closest we’ve come to so many monkeys and it’s difficult to believe that they are in any way dangerous. They look so relaxed, almost human like.
Come experience this beauty of Mother Nature!

Day 3 - Polonnaruwa Monkey Program/ Dambulla
Half a day Monkey Program, Learn about them and get to be with them.

Dambulla The major attractions of the city include the largest and best preserved cave temple complex of Sri Lanka, and the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, famous for being built in just 167 days. The city also boasts to have the largest rose quartz mountain range in South Asia, and the Iron wood forest, or Namal Uyana. Ibbankatuwa prehistoric burial site near Dambulla cave temple complexes is the latest archaeological site of significant historical importance found in Dambulla, which is located within 3 kilometers of the cave temples providing evidence on presence of indigenous civilizations long before the arrival of Indian influence on the Island nation.
