Feel as if you’ve transferred back through time; enjoy more of the, ”colonial architecture” Walk through the impressive City Hall, flanking the arched entrance are two Nagas, serpents from Buddhist and Hindu mythology. The Superior High Court which has a grand clock tower that faces the Independence Monument, an obelisk structure that stands 165 ft tall. There are more unique structures like the General Post Office, House of Customs and the Strand Hotel. For the highlight of the day “Walking Tour of Shwedagon Pagoda” which rises an impressive 322 feet (98 meters) from its base and is said to have been covered with tons of pure gold, along with numerous precious stones such as jade, rubies, sapphires and diamonds. Then, visit of the most popular bazaar in Yangon, the Bogyoke Aung San Market.
DAY 2: Flight To Mandalay Sightseeing
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for domestic flight to Mandalay. Experience the sights and sounds of Mandalay including of the most revered religious monument in Myanmar – “Mahamuni Pagoda & Mahamuni Buddha Image”. Several shops around the temple sell offerings for the Mahamuni Buddha image such as incense sticks, candles and flowers.In the afternoon we are going to visit Golden Palace Monastery, a superb example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda which is also called “the world’s largest book”, named after the 729 marble slabs inscribed with Buddhist teachings. Proceed to Mandalay Hill to enjoy the sunset and panoramic view of the city. At the top you will be welcomed by clusters of pagoda and monasteries.
DAY 3: Mandalay- Ava- Amarapura Sightseeing
Visit an authentic teakwood masterpiece the Bagaya Monastery, surely the ancient architecture of the building will simply amaze you. We are also going to visit Mahagandayon - a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study- watch the monks queue up for their main meal of the day. Continue to 200-year-old U Bein teak bridge, built in 1782 and the oldest teak bridge in the world is made from the remains of a royal palace. Continue drive to Amarapura - famous for its weaving and the most beautiful and expensive clothes are hand embroidered – these would be mostly used for bridal gowns or worn only by very wealthy women. Visit a traditional hand – woven silk workshop as well as Kalaga tapestries craftsmen’s shop followed by Gold leaf work shop. Next, visit to the “leaning tower” Nanmyint, one of the only structures remaining from King Bagyidaw’s palace. Visit to Ava (Mouth of the lake) popularly known as Me Nu Ok Kyaung (Me Nu's Brick Monastery), it was built in 1818 by Nanmadaw Me Nu and continue visit to the teak Bagaya Monastery.
DAY 4- Flight To Bagan, Sightseeing (B/-/-)
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Domestic Airport for a flight to Bagan. Upon arrival in Bagan, “Sightseeing of the most ancient pagodas on Bagan while riding on E-bikes”. Start with the Shwezigon Pagoda- this huge gold plated pagoda glimmering in the sun. Wetkyi-in Gubyaukgyi, noteworthy for its mural paintings and frescoes that depict scenes from the Jataka tales. Manuha Temple, built in Mon style in 1059 that enshrines four large gold painted images of the Buddha. Ananda Temple, with four standing Buddha images at its corners Htilominlo, a majestic 46-meter high Thatbyinnyu Temple one of the highest monuments, an unfinished huge pyramid like structure, the Dhammayangyi Pahto Temple contains images of the Gautama Buddha and the future Maitreya Buddha, side by side. Set out on a “boat cruise” and enjoy the vivid sunset view in Irrawaddy River.
DAY 5– Bagan Sightseeing (B/-/-)
Choose if you want to participate in ballooning over Bagan to watch the sunrise. Morning at your leisure. Visit of the colorful “Nyaung U Market”. You can almost find everything here from vegetables, seafood and poultry, also there is a section selling handicraft, traditional clothing (locals call it “Longyi”) and as well as antiques. We will teach you how to wear a longyi. Learn at “lacquerware workshop” of the Myinkaba village, notable for its traditional Mon-style lacquerware.
DAY 6 - Flight To Inle Lake, Sightseeing (B/L/-)
After breakfast transfer to the airport for domestic flight to Heho. Upon arrival to Heho Airport transfer to Nyaung Shwe (Inle Lake). An active adventure awaits today with a boat trip through rural villages on Inle Lake. Set out on a boat ride and admire the beautiful floating gardens and also witness the locals with their unusual technique of traditional fishing method, the one-legged rowing. Our tour will includes visit of Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State, boat construction workshop at Nampan village and Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery one of the oldest monasteries on the lake. Around lunchtime you’ll arrive at an Intha house where you’ll be welcomed for a “Home Cooked Meal” Moving to Inpaw Khone, a small village with teak stilt houses on the lakeside, where you have a chance to know more about the local traditional weaving technique, which remain unchanged for centuries. After that discover a cheroot factory and observe local Burmese roll cigars by hand.
DAY 7 - Inle Lake (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the morning market in Inle Lake, a 5-day rotating market that rotates through five different sites around the lake area. This is mainly visited by inhabitants of the lake and tribes of the surrounding hills to sell and market their products. Boat ride to Indein the home of the Pa-oh tribe. Along the way, you will be greeted by many ancient pagodas in many shapes and sizes and in various states of preservation. Upon arrival, explore the area on foot and visit a local school. Have a stroll Nyaung Ohak, and discover the impressive ruins of hundreds of ancient pagodas.
DAY 8 - Flight To Yangon Departure (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. From Nyaung Shwe, transfer to Heho airport by car. Transfer to International Airport Yangon for Departures.
