Memphis is a city in Hall County, Texas, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the population was 2,479. It is the county seat of Hall County. Memphis is the birthplace of former U.S. Representative Larry Combest, who represented the Lubbock-based district from 1985-2003. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7Square kilometers), all of it land.
