Abiquiu, or Abiquiui is a small unincorporated town located in Rio Arriba County, in northern New Mexico in the southwestern United States, about 53 miles (85 Square Kilometer) north of Santa Fe. In the 1730s, it was the third largest settlement in the New Mexico Territory. Artist Georgia OKeeffe lived there from 1949 until her death in 1986 at 98 years of age.Abiquiu is home of the Ruth Hall Museum of Paleontology, named in honor of Ruth Hall.
