Located 12 miles north of Clarksville, the 98-acre Horsehead Lake is situated in the heart of The Ozarks. Although home to several species of sport fish, the lake is primarily recognized for its superior catfishing. Horsehead Lake is cooperatively managed by the USDA Forest Service and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and provides both primitive and developed camping areas, bathroom facilities, a swim beach, play-ground and picnic area, most of which are fully accessible.
96 acre lake. Largemouth bass, Blue Gill, Redear Sunfish, Channel Catfish .Arkansas Game & Fish Commision primitive camping and boat launch are across the lake from the developed campground and day use area with signs directing visitors to the area. There is a 'no wake' limitation on the lake. Visitors are encouraged to operate smaller motors or trolling motors.
