Traversing more than 74 miles of the Apalachicola National Forest, this portion of the statewide Florida National Scenic Trail offers unique challenges to the hiker. There are titi swamps to cross, vast pine flatwoods where standing water is often cradled by the landscape, and the toughest section of hiking trail in Florida, the wade through remoteness of Bradwell Bay, a dense swamp forest in a wilderness area.
