Cumberland Plateau which is also a portion of the Cumberland Trail State Park. We will be looking for late spring/early summer wildflowers and observing all plants and wildlife along the way as we hike to Laurel Falls. Depending on rainfall the falls may be already low for the season but the view will be worth the hike up! The very interesting cultural history of the region will be discussed and participants will see remnants of mining activity. The route is moderate to strenuous. Wear sturdy shoes and hiking clothes, and bring plenty of water, lunch and snacks.
