Carnuel is a census-designated place (CDP) in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 1,232 at the 2010 Census. It is part of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 872 people, 371 households, and 244 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 354.0 people per square mile (136.9/km²). There were 398 housing units at an average density of 161.6 per square mile (62.5/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 69.27% White, 0.34% African American, 1.72% Native American, 27.06% from other races, and 1.61% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 51.15% of the population.
