Bunker Hill at 11,474 feet is the highest peak in the northern Toiyabe Range south of Austin. Its the highest pointin Lander County so attracts a few peak baggers. Mineral deposits were discovered here in 1863 and a 20 stamp mill was built in nearby Kingston in 1864. Mine and mill ruins still remain. The mine and mill closed in 1869.
