Access to the Western Connector of the Florida Trail just north of Eaton Creek. Trail kiosk with trail information and parking area. Day hikers will enjoy a ramble south across the Eaton Creek Bridge and down past CR 314-A, where a stand of ancient pines is marked with the tools of the turpentine tapper's craft.

Closest Towns: Altoona lies south and Astor to the northeast. Neither are close enough to the trail for backpacker resupply.
Fees: $4 per person entrance fee to access the day use area at Alexander Springs. Walk-in reservations for a campsite are possible but not guaranteed.
Parking: Trailhead parking is available at Alexander Springs Recreation Area and Farles Prairie Recreation Area (no overnight parking), fee, and at the SR 19 Trailhead for free.
