Short Inca Trail & Machu Picchu 2 Days

This specialized tour allows you to trek the Inca Trail and visit Machu Picchu in just two days. On day one, wake up early and take a scenic train ride to your drop off point at kilometer 104 for a full day of trekking on the latter section of the Inca trail. All the best bits are condensed into one day of trekking through cloud forests, mountainous landscapes and featuring highlights such as the spectacular hillside ruins of Winay Wayna and the renowned Sun Gate for your first views of Machu Picchu. On the second day, you will have a guided tour of the impressive ruins of Machu Picchu as well as several hours to explore on your own before heading back to Cusco by train and bus.

Day 1: Cusco - Wiñay Wayna - Machu Picchu

We will pick you up at your hotel early in the morning and take you to the train station. Departure time is based upon train availability. It's about a 2.5 hour picturesque train ride to kilometer 104, our starting point on the Inca Trail. From here, we will trek about 5-6 hours up to the Incan site Wiñay Wayna. We will continue onwards towards the Sun Gate from where you will have your first dramatic, panoramic view of Machu Picchu. Before reaching Machu Picchu, we will take a side path off the trail to go down to Aguas Calientes. In Aguas Calientes we'll have dinner and nights rest at a 3 star hotel in town before heading to Machu Picchu the following day.

Day 2: Machu Picchu Tour - Cusco

After breakfast at the hotel, we will take the first bus at 5:30am up to Machu Picchu. You will go on a 2 hour guided walking tour with free time afterwards to explore the mysterious city by yourselves. If you have energy, you can also climb Huayna Picchu (It takes about 45 minutes to reach the top.) You will meet your guide in Aguas Calientes for lunch and be given your train tickets back to Cusco.

  • Damages caused by the client to the bus or to the camping equipment.
  • Camping equipment such as sleeping bag or walking stick.
  • Personal porter who is responsible for carrying your duffel bag. (You will not have access to your duffel bag until your evening campsite).
