The Avenida Jose Larco is one of the main avenues of the city of Lima, capital of Peru. Located in the Miraflores district it is the main commercial center of the district and one of the largest in the city. Covering 13 blocks in the district of Miraflores including the Palacio Municipal thereof, it is the ultimate shopping street featuring a large number of restaurants, cafes, bookstores, boutiques, theaters, banks, nightclubs and casinos. Considered as the center of Lima's high society, this trait was more marked in 1950s as reflected in books of famous authors like Mario Vargas Llosa and Alfredo Bryce Echenique.
Beginning in the Ovalo de Miraflores in the corner of Avenida Ricardo Palma, the first block of Avenida Larco welcomes the Tiendecita Blanca, a coffee Swiss long presence. In the second block are located Pizza Hut and Burger King the peace courts of Barranco and Miraflores . The third block is the last one facing the Central Park of Miraflores and therein lies the classic local KFC. From the start of block four boutiques, few surviving music record shops in Lima like disk chain Phantom Music, also the local Bembos are located.
The corner of Shell Road intersection is a transitadísima. After that street are the local banks, highlighting the Credit Bank Building and Tarata Street. From the intersection with Avenida Benavides are the casinos. In the following blocks, the commercial nature of the track fades a bit even to see some houses of 1950s . These areas still feature old restaurants, bookstores and the Teatro Larco. In block 9 is the embassy of Honduras and in the 10's of Uruguay. Finally, in block 13 is the Marriot Tower which houses the offices of Telmex, the embassy of Great Britain and the Marriot Hotel. The avenue ends at the rebuilt Salazar Park and shopping center Larcomar.
