Pimping the village got its name from perkaraan 'Pimpin' in the Kadazandusun language which means' lalang'- formerly occupied by the village people, there are a lot of weeds growing everywhere so the place trees and other plants not to be. Kadazandusun people make this place a hunting area. When the dry season hunters are burning tares is to enable young weeds tumbauh and that's when the deer and deer grazing together young fresh leaves of grass as food then that is when they hunt.
At about 1824 then this area is occupied by people who moved in the stages of a village upstream of the village of Pimping 'Old House' three miles from the village now.
