Tumsar (Marathi: ) is a city and a municipal council in Bhandara district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The name of the city was derived from the name of a fish, "tum", which was found here earlier.
Tumsar was previously known as Kuber Nagari. the city speak Marathi language as their mothertongue Tumsar is approximately 6 km from the Vainganga river, 30 km from Bhandara, 95 km From Nagpur, 65 km from Gondia and 300 km from Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh).
