- Kochi, Kerala, India
Kalamassery (കളമശ്ശേരി) is a region in the city of Kochi and a Municipality in the District of Ernakulam of Kerala state, India. It is a concentrated region of industrialization with several factories manufacturing chemicals and fertilizers, as well as IT companies. In the vicinity of Kalamassery are the Thrikkakara Temple, the Cochin University of Science And Technology and the Eloor industrial township. The Periyar River flows through Kalamassery.
Economy :
FACT, India’s 1st large scale unit was set up in 1943 for fertilizer. In 1947, FACT Udyogamandal started production of ammonium sulphate with an installed capacity of 10,000 MT nitrogen. FACT became a Kerala State Public Sector Enterprise on 15 August 1960 and on 21 November 1962; the Government of India became a major Shareholder. FACT engineering works was established on 13 April 1966. Aluminium oxide is also produced in Kalamassery.

- Museum of Kerala History : The Museum of Kerala History is a light and sound show of three dimensional visuals. 87 figures who shaped the history and culture of Kerala in the last two thousand years have been represented here. The story, from the early peoples of Kerala to the modern age is interspersed with social, cultural and literary facts. The museum has a collection of 150 dolls, all hand made and detailed, representing the cultural and ethnic diversity of India.
- St Mary's Jacobite Syrian Church : St. Mary Jacobite Syrian Church was completed on September 29, 1976. Between 1991 and 1994 the church underwent extensive renovation and it includes the Zunoro of Mary, which is claimed to have been brought to India by St Thomas.
- St. Pious Church : St. Pious Church is the Church of Saint Pious. Under this church, there are several institutions, which gave job opportunity to women. V-guard’s Churidar Stitching Unit is working under this church. There is also a computer centre which educate the needy and backward people. V-guards stabilizer unit also had a unit here. It also had a kinder garden and women hostel.
