We are a family of four. We have two children, one of them is a primary school teacher and lives in Athens. This makes that we are three in a beautiful semi-detached two storey house with large doors leading to spacious balconies with a GREAT VIEW to the Patraic bay where the Rion Bridge dominates. From our balconies you can see the lights of the cities of Mainland Greece like Nafkaktos, Mesologui etc. The area is a quite neighoubourhood - with the exception of hens and dogs, and - sometimes during summer - a horse riding down to the sea with his owner. Something that adds the summer evenings a special tone is - apart from the fragrance of flowers - the rebetiko bouzouki that our neighbour plays during his time of rest.
In the quiet night hours I sometimes play the guitar. I have studied classical guitar for some years and in summer I play whatever I still remember. Beautiful nights. Warm, peaceful, fragrant.
There are three levels where one can spend time of relaxation, all of them overlooking the sea. The distance to a nice, clean beach to swim is around 20 to 30 minutes by car or by bike. You can ride bikes, motorbikes or cars. We can also share excursions to wonderful beaches further away and to a ton of interesting places: Little villages with hospitable peasants, pine woods, rivers, archaeological sites (Delfi and Olympia among them), woods full of Centaurs - if you have a lot of imagination of course- ancient churches, monasteries.
There are also tavernas with live Greek music both near our place and down town, and certainly many pubs, bars, cinemas etc for the younger ones. I can't stop describing the possibilities that one has from here. Good will, love of life, curiosity and patience to some discomforts that Greece may present - signs, lack of translated timetables etc. Still it is a country full of surprises.
Our house has three bedrooms and one living room contiguous with the kitchen. Underneath there is a separate studio which can be rented too. The rooms that are in the disposition of the guests vary according to the number of people to stay. I see that the hosts have to "provide a light breakfast" also. You should not worry. Nobody who comes to our place will stay hungry.
