The Liszt School of Music Weimar is a college of music in Weimar, Germany. Franz Liszt, who spent a great deal of his life in Weimar, encouraged the founding of a school in 1835 for the education of musicians in orchestral instruments. It was his student Carl Müllerhartung who realized Liszt's dream, founding the school on June 24, 1872. The school offers programs in all orchestral instruments, piano, conducting and composition. The school is located in several different buildings in the centre of Weimar.
