Junction Road is a section of the A400 road in Upper Holloway, north London, running between Archway Tube Station (at the top of Holloway Road) and Tufnell Park Tube Station (where the A400 continues southwards as Fortess Road).
The street has a number of restaurants and bars. Pubs that are located on Junction Road include The Lion, gastropub St. John's Tavern, The Oak & Pastor, Irish pub and gig venue The Boston Arms, and The Hideaway, a bar, comedy and music venue. Junction Road also benefits from established retail outlets such as Greggs, Costa Coffee, and Iceland, as well as independent coffee retailer The Bread and Bean Cafe, and a nearby farmers market.
Junction Road is home to the infamous Archway Tower whereby local residents are campaigning and debating as to whether the tower should saved, Some adopt the view that it is an eyesore whilst others believes it Archway’s landmark and Archway’s ‘identity’. Despite the difference of the views in regards to the tower it offers residents some form of entertainment, and in October 2013 Archway tower was the stage for the aerial theatre. The tower is considered an eyesore.
