Day 3: Angkor — Ho Chi Minh City
You will begin the day with the discovery of Angkor Thom. Then, we will visit the Bayon. It is, with Angkor Wat, one of the favourite monuments among visitors. Jayavarman VII's goal was to rebuild the capital and to bring the kingdom a new vibrancy, signifying a bright future for the Khmers. Then, we will visit one of the most famous temples of Angkor which is Ta Prohm. This temple was left untouched by archaeologists, except for the clearing of a path for visitors. Because of its natural state, it is possible to experience some of the wonder of the early explorers, when they came upon this monument in the middle of the 19th century. In the afternoon, we will finish our tour with the visit of Preah Khan. It is a royal city forming a rectangle surrounded by a moat and similar to Ta Prohm, but with only four enclosures. If time permits it, we will visit Neak Prean. Then, we will transfer you to the airport.
