There has been the original Church of St. Ulrich on this site.
The Chapel of St. Ulrich is an outstanding art-historical gem. The original Church on this location belonged to the Castle of Schallenberg and was destroyed by the Hussits in 1427. And as a result the Church had to be rebuilt under Bernhard of Schallenberg. An inscription on the eastern interior wall gives proof of this renewal, showing the year 1482.
In the course of Josephinian Church Reform the Church was closed down in the year 1786 as it was considered not to be needed anymore. In 1870, the nave was demolished. Today, the only fragment that survived the original Church is the Gothic chancel, the Presbytery.
