The suspended footbridge in Rofen
The suspended footbridge was built by the Klotz brothers in 1967, in 1984 is was renovated. The bridge has a length of 46m and leads over the 31m deep Rofen gorge.
Josef Klotz, one of the three Klotz brothers, was killed during the building of the bridge.
The Rofen farmstrads (Rofenhöfe) lie just above Vent, at an altitude of 2,014m. Come and visit the famous Haflinger stud farm of Mr. Franz Klotz.
Leander Klotz, an ancestor of the Klotz family, was the first to climb the Wildspitze mountain in 1848. Together with his brother Nikodemus he was trained to be a mountain guide by Franz Senn, a priest.
