Originally built under Archduke Leopold V as "Comedia House" between 1629 and 1632, it was the only detached opera house north of the Alps. In the 19th century the building was remodeled into a Toll Hall (Dogana) that was destroyed during World War II. In 1973 it was reopened as a modern Congress and Events Center.
Today, the Congress Innsbruck refers to convention convenience and conference comfort at the very heart of Innsbruck´s Old Town. The structure houses a recently refurbished and enlarged convention center that provides a truly unique venue for conferences and events.
