Located at a short distance from the Plunge Pool Walk is the start of the Shady Creek Walk. We will need to follow a small stream as it traverses down from secondary plateau through a rainforest filled gorge. This wooded path follows the creek up to the plateau crossing the creek several times through footbridges, and through woodlands back to Florence Creek.
One of the salient features of this walk is the stand of the clumping palm trees (Hydriastele wendlandiana) along the creekside. However, these palms are only found within a few locations across the Top End. As we cross Florence Creek we'll reach a picnic spot spread along the creek. An excellent area to take a break and relax with the sound of the creek as it flows past. It is now just a short stroll to the car park where you can locate a toilet as well.
