About
- Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Beckenham Station is a Transperth railway station located 13.8 kilometres (8.6 mi) south-east of Perth railway station, Western Australia, on the Armadale Line. Opened in 1968 it was originally named Higham Railway Station. Due to its proximity to the original Cannington Train Station, the latter was moved to a new site near Cecil Avenue during the upgrade of the rail line from Diesel to Electric as there needed to be further distances between stations. Although Thornlie line trains run through this station before spurring off the Armadale line, they do not stop at this station. This is the only station that the Thornlie line train goes through but never stops at.
