Yemen attracts tourists towards its wonderful pre-Islamic and Islamic architecture, serene locales and several ancient archeological sites. The splendid 2nd century city of Sana’a is one of the top travel destinations in the country. Famous for preserving its Islamic architecture and medina citadel, San’a is home to several UNESCO World Heritage sites.  Socotra is an idyllic island famous for its pristine beaches and numerous rare species of plants.

The ancient fortress-city of Kawkaban with its elegant old buildings, natural beauty and ancient artifacts is another must visit destination. Old city of Sa’dah attracts tourists towards its mud houses and delicious fruits including date palms, grapes and raisins. Besides this, other major tourist attractions in Yemen include the archaeological site of Arsh Bilqis along with the wonderful castle of Dar al-Hajar built in the 18th century. Also worth visiting are the garden city of Rawdha and the striking Hadda and Haraz mountains. .
