Socialist Republic of Albania official name Albania during the communist dictatorship from 1976 to 1992.

Starting from the liberation of Nazis and Fascists during World War II, a rapidly expanding communist group eliminated all potential political enemies in Albania and isolated the country by establishing the People’s Republic of Albania, a strong communist dictatorship of Stalinist mold.

Day 1: Arrival at “Nene Teresa”
The international airport and transfer with accommodation at the hotel in Durres (second city of Albania). Being late in the evening, the hotel prepares a light buffet for the customers; In case of arrival in the day will be served a normal dinner.

Day 2: In the morning visit to the city of Durres.
Durres, founded by the Illyrians, became an important port of Roman times, of which the period boasts an interesting amphitheater of the time (the largest of the Balkans), visit to the Roman amphitheater, to the historical places of the city (Venetian tower, walls Etc.) and a visit to the modern city (Promenade, Boulevard). Lunch at a beach front bunker. And free evening.

Day 3: Departure early morning on the way to Saranda.
Stop at Orikum’s Roman excavations (Oricum) inside the former Albanian naval base called “Pashaliman” now NATO base (entry with identity card at the military lock station). In the archaeological park there are still remains of barracks and depoysters of the period. Continue for the National Park of Llogora at about mt. 1000 s.m. (In the park you can find many alebri of various species such as Pine black (Pinus nigra) trees, Pini bosnique (Pinus heldreichii), Bulgarian fir, (Abies borisii-sign) and ash (Fraxinus). Llogara has always been a renowned holiday destination for Albanians, but it is very popular with tourists from northern Europe. Lunch in a typical restaurant with typical Albanian cuisine. From the footstep you have a spectacular view of the mountains and the Ionian Riviera of Albania. Park in a beautiful natural creek called Porto Palermo has been and in part is still a military base, thanks to the caverns excavated in the rock used for the submersible. At the time of the “Cold War” one of these about 800 meters long contained 4 submarines. The remains of a barracks used by Italian soldiers during the Second World War and then by the Albanians are visible. This area is also famous for the many archaeological finds recovered in various diving such as Greek, Roman, and Byzantine amphorae. The area was of great strategic importance, and many are in fact military testimonies, among which many fortified bunkers along the cliff overlooking the sea. On the small peninsula it is visitable, weather permitting, also Alì Pasha fortress built in 1818.

Day 4: Early morning departure to the site of Butrint
Butrint dates back to the 7th century BC and according to Virgil was founded by Elen son of Priam King of Troy, the Greeks make Butrint a fortified shopping town (the remains of the Acropolis are still visible). Its 6th century BC fortress evokes all the military power of the city and is a symbol of a rich culture and an important and thriving city. Then it became an important Roman colony. It falled under the rule of Venetians and Turks, losing its importance throughout the century, beginning its decline. The newly discovered city (only partially excavated) is a very important microcosm of nearly 3,000 years of Mediterranean history. Exploration of amphitheater, Venetian tower, mosaic, lion gate. The visit to Butrint’s site is carried out with an official guide. Visit the precious antiquarium (museum) on site. Short break on the beautiful Ksamil where the white sand beach contrasts with the splendid emerald sea. Late in the morning departure to the town of Girocastro, where gave birth the dictator Enver Hoxha (in his home house now finds the Ethnological Museum). Lunch in a typical restaurant. City tour, visit to the castle and the Second World War and the Communist-era Armory Museum. Accommodation at the hotel. Free dinner and evening.

Day 5: Departure to the Albanian capital, Tirane.
Arrive in the morning, visit to the city of Tirana and to the underground atomic bunker of dictator Enver Hoxha. Visit to Skanderbeg Square, Ethem Bey Mosque, Clock Tower, National Museum rich in ancient finds from stone era to medieval times. Lunch in an Italian restaurant, run by Italians. In the evening visit to the Blloku or Block district where during the communist period the various leaders of the communist party lived in a golden isolation. Now the Block, full of shops, bars, literary cafes, pubs, restaurants, nightclubs, has become a youthful and recreational neighborhood where anyone is going to flaunt wealth on luxurious and expensive cars, but especially where you go have fun in a carefree way but now also a meeting point for artists and intellectuals of all kinds. Going back to the hotel.

Day 6:
In the case that will be afternoon departure, the morning will be free for shopping and more. At the time and in the pre-set place the coach will collect tourists and take them to airport “Nena Teresa” for return.
