West Swag

This is about a twenty-minute walk to some seldom-visited ruins. The ruins are actually located in a wash just between the south and west swag. To reach the ruins follow Nipple Ranch Road past the turnoff to Mollies Nipple. The road reaches a high point at a small pass atop the Vermilion Cliffs before beginning a downgrade.

As the road starts heading downhill, keep an eye on the cliffs that drop off on the right side of the road. When possible, scale down the cliffs and follow the cliff line south to an alcove that houses Indian ruins that are circular and made of bricks cemented together by clay. Some minor petroglyphs can be seen along the cliff walls near the ruins.
