This American relic is known by most as the home of the Liberty Bell, Ben Franklin and large chunks of historical nostalgia. While all of this is true, Philadelphia is also very diverse, boasting World-class museums, and one of the largest city park systems in the world. Philadelphia can impress any visitor, regardless of your motives.
One of the first cities in the world to be designed on the elementary grid system, thanks to William Penn, Philadelphia is an easy city to maneuver through. “America’s most historic square mile” is in the downtown district, and easily viewable on foot. The majestic Fairmount Park is never far, despite your location in the city. Every district is unique from the next, some with bustling nightlife, others with classy restaurants, and so on. And if you want to escape the mass of buildings and cars, escape out to one of many nearby Pennsylvania wildlife refuges and hit the trails.
