Observation Peak is a fairly short mountain in the Washburn Range located just north of the Solfatara Plateau and Grebe Lake, northwest of the Canyon Village area. At one time there was an active fire observation tower on the summit, thus giving the peak its name. Though it is no longer used as a fire lookout, the tower building itself remains and is used as a backcountry patrol cabin now. There is a fairly popular trail that leads to the peak's summit.
