Newport is a city in Lincoln County, Oregon, United States. It was incorporated in 1882, though the name dates back to the establishment of a post office in 1868. Newport is the county seat of Lincoln County. It is also the home of the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Nye Beach, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, and Rogue Ales. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10.4 square miles (27 Square Kilometer), of which 8.9 square miles (23 Square Kilometer) is land and 4.0 Square Kilometer (14.94%) is water.
