A wonderful, scenic, easy hiking spot in Point Reyes National Seashore. This is a perfect outing for families with small kids or anyone looking to see the sights one of Point Reyes's sandy beaches without a lengthy hike and it is enjoyable year round. Leashed dogs are also allowed on a Good part of the beach.

The beach south of the trail is however off limits to dogs. The trails offer a wide variety of scenery from incredible sandy shores to fields of salmonberries with their amazingly shocking pink flowers and red berries that glisten in the sun. During the spring the vistas are breathtaking with the assortment of California wild flowers that are displayed. An hours drive from San Francisco, the Seashore is a wonderful reprieve from the business of city life.

CLIMATE: As with any of the coastal region in Northern California, the weather can vary with marine layers, dense fog and layered clothing is highly recommended.

ACTIVITIES: Hiking, walking, photography, bird watching, wild life viewing, sun bathing. In other parts of Point Reyes National Seashores there are campgrounds, numerous beaches to enjoy California kayaking, biking, beachcombing and wildlife viewing.
