The Anchor River is a river on the Kenai Peninsula in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is 30 miles long and empties into Cook Inlet on the beach below Anchor Point. The Anchor River State Recreation Area is a popular spot for camping and fishing in the summer months, when there are salmon runs, and catch-and-release steelhead fishing. The parking lot at the recreation area is the most westerly point in North America's contiguous road system.Because Anchor Point does not have a harbor, those not wishing to launch their boats from Homer or Ninilchik can have their boats launched by tractors which will actually drive into Cook Inlet with boats on trailers in order to launch.
