Edirne, renowned for its rich historical past and culture is home of the World-famous oil-wrestling competition. Dating back to the Neolithic age 7.000-6.000 BC, the city is one of the oldest settlements in Turkey. The beautifully built Selimiye Mosque that has been listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO is one of the top tourist attractions in Edirne. The grand mosque was designed by Sinan, the 16th century Ottoman architect and is considered as the pinnacle of Ottoman architecture.

Medical Museum showcasing several models of patients and Ottoman miniatures from medical schoolbooks is another important tourist attraction in Edirne. Besides this, Macedonia Tower, Museum of Archeology, Old Quarter, ?ükrü Pasha Memorial and Balkan Wars Museum are some of the top places to visit in Edirne.
