The entrance to the amphitheatre.

It is thought to be entrance to the amphitheatre during Roman times as remains have been found. It is rectangular and follows the model of the traditional Castilian Plaza Mayor Square. It is the only one in Andalusia with these characteristics. During the Roman period it was the main entrance to the amphitheatre and during the reconstruction works, magnificent Roman mosaics were found. These can be seen in the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos Fortress.
