In this church, diverse architectural styles from different periods in history can be found together. Located at a strategic point within Niebla, Paleo-Christian and Visigoth remains have been found within its walls. The Moors built a large mosque here, which, according to tradition, was handed over to the Jewish community by king Alfonso X. The church underwent important changes after the Christian conquest. The naves were rebuilt in the 14th century with Mudejar designs. The brick doorway with double horseshoe arch which can be seen to this day dates from that period. A new Gothic apse was built in the 15th century. It is the most monumental part of the church. Meanwhile, the most modern influences of the church can be found in its northern section, with Mudejar and Baroque elements.
