From the cork oak


This exhibit explains the process of manufacturing cork.

The museum is dedicated exclusively to the preservation, study and dissemination of the natural and cultural heritage of cork. Visitors are introduced to the subject of bioecology, which special emphasis on the cork oak –the source of cork–, and shown how the cork is obtained and used. They also learn about the process and machinery used in the traditional manufacture of bottle corks, and can see sculptures and altarpieces made from this material.
