We are based in Port Nolloth, and normally start and end our Tours here, but through arrangements you can be picked up at the airport in Upington or Cape Town.
We normally structure our Tours to include as much as possible, of a variety of things. On the way to the the Ai-Ais Richtersveld Transfrontier Park (a World Heritage site) we like to show our visitors some rare plants, landscapes, rock engravings etc. These amazing places are not necessarily inside the Park. On a “normal” trip, we only reach the Park by the end of the first day.
The Richtersveld consists of the Sandveld on the coast, which is mostly inaccessible ( restricted mining area), then you have the wetlands at the Orange river mouth, the scenic areas along the Orange river, Conservancy areas at Kuboes, Eksteenfontein and Rooiberg, the National Park, and areas outside these formal conservancy areas. It needs to be mentioned that some of the Areas outside the conservancy and Park, are no less spectacular than the parts inside these areas.
Our more popular tours are between 2 and 8 days. Before these trips we establish our client’s personal interests, and put something together that suits them. We start planning a tour with two people, and keep our group sizes to not more than eight people.
On our tours, we supply everything, from the vehicle , equipment, putting up camp where necessary, preparing meals, cleaning up, changing flat tyres (if necessary), drinking water and accommodation before and after the Tour (in Port Nolloth)
In the National Park, we would not be able to cover much of it, as travelling in the Park is generally slow. It is important to make stops, and to do short hikes, to see and appreciate more of the plants, and landscapes, thus we need to do 3 to 6 days in order to cover all.
