Singapore, officially known as the Republic of Singapore is a Southeast Asian City-State that is located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. It is a tiny island nation that comprises of 63 islands. The English name of Singapore is derived from the word Singapura of the Malaysian origin which in fact is also derived from the Sanskrit language. The city-nation is also referred to as Lion City.
