Kigali International Airport

Formerly known as the Gregoire Kayibanda International Airport, the Kigali International Airport, also known as the Kanombe International Airport is a primary civil aviation airport near Kigali, the capital city of the landlocked East African nation of the Republic of Rwanda. Located at a distance of about 14 kilometers to the east of the Kigali central business district, this aviation facility is serving an average of 300,000 passengers every year. Situated at an elevation of 4,858 feet above mean sea level, this aviation facility is owned and operated by the Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA), which is a governing body entrusted with the development and management of airports in Rwanda.

There is a single 11,482 feet long asphalt surfaced runway catering to a wide variety of flight movements to/from the Kigali International Airport. Actually, there are three associated passenger terminals at this airport effectively rolled into one, along with a separate cargo terminal woven around a modern aviation infrastructure which includes 6 aircraft stands, 3 gates with 8 check-in desks and 2 baggage claim belts.
