12th of June 1960, there was open a museum at the initiative of the local community and it was given a name of Jan Nikodem Jaroń, a lyric-writer and a playwright. There is an exposition of archaeology, ethnography and history. Since 2005 the Regional Museum of Olesno, that is the name of the museum - it is XVIII-century monumental baroque tenement house. Due to the historical section, there was established a permanent exposition of history of the town Olesno. There is another permanent exposition of forest and hunting room made by the forest inspectorate ( animals, exhibits connected with work of a forester, cones, trees' sprouts,etc.). As a regional museum, it collects and preserves but also draws up goods of material culture from area of Olesno lands concerning archaeology, ethnography and history.
